OCCUPRINT: Posters from the #Occupy Movement

Something the 99% and the 1% can agree on is that the Occupy movements have brought us some really creative posters, banners and signs.

Ok, they may not even agree on that, but it made for a great opening remark.

Enjoy this super rad showcase of some awesome Occupy posters designs from around the world. They are even available for download!

I say we Occupy an Office Wall with ALL of these marvelous designs.

Books as art

In recent times, we've seen the decline of the actual book. (Even my mother-in-law, who is a librarian, loves her iPad! Hello!) In a way sad, but also refreshingly cool is the work of artist Brian Dettmer. He creates sculptures from book and other "antiquated media." I've always been one of those people who can't throw away a book, maybe I should send him some of my stockpile... Very cool and interesting work.

So, you think you're a good photog?

Entries close November 30, but if you act fast you can still enter National Geographic's 2011 photo contest! If you think that you've got a shot that's worthy of entering, I am both jealous and wish you the best of luck! Its just fun (an easy to spend an inordinate amount of time) to look through the incredible images that are entered. Hopefully, you'll find some time over the holiday weekend to peruse. Enjoy and have a wonderful Thanksgiving!

If you happen to be in London...

And you thought that Sylvia Plath was just a poet, novelist and short story writer? As it turns out, she was also an illustrator. You can see some of her drawings here. There is a selection of her work on display at London's Mayor Gallery, just in case you're planning a jaunt to the other side of the pond.
